Wellington Bays
The Wellington Bays team covers the area from the basin reserve to Wellington harbour. The team provides ongoing supported accommodation for a number of people in this part of Wellington. The team support people to develop relationships and other skills to enable them to integrate back into the community. Supported accommodation includes supporting people with recreation choices, medication management, cooking, attending appointments and so on. Staff are on site for 24 hours so assistance is available at any time.
A number of our tenants are long-term as they are older and have increasing physical needs, while others require support for only a short time, subsequently moving into the community. Once people are no longer in supported accommodation, they might choose to be supported by Wellink in their own homes.
The community support workers assist individuals to identify goals and visions and assist with recovery plans as identified by the person in the service. Our support workers are skilled at accessing services and activities in the community which can aid clients in their community integration.
Reintegration Support
The reintegration support of Te Whare O Maitairangi service users is a service provided by Wellink and Care NZ. The service meets the needs of people by promoting wellness and helping them transition from acute inpatient services to community based care and support.
Wellink provides experienced community support workers who hold the crucial role of assisting people with Work & Income applications and enquiries. The support workers also bring awareness of community services that are available for people.
Support is also provided by our Homelink service which assists people in accessing and maintaining independent housing.
