Homelink provides a range of housing options
for people who use mental health services.
The Right Place At The Right Time
Having a place to feel at home in is important for those of us on the road to recovery from a mental health crisis. The level of housing support will vary from person to person, but you can rest assured that Homelink has a service that will meet your housing needs as you work to become well again.
Homelink provides:
- Supported accommodation in one of our dedicated homes
- Tenanted accommodation in a Wellink-owned home
- Help with finding a suitable home in the wider
community
Supported Accommodation
Wellink’s supported accommodation is suitable for those of us who need some help with getting through each day. Wellink runs the home you’ll be living in and all supported accommodation houses are staffed by Wellink support staff.
You’ll still have to pay rent - which may be subsidised - but you will work out other bills, such as phone, electricity and food by negotiation with your flatmates and Wellink support staff.
You can stay as long as you need this level of support, which may be for up to two years. Our aim is to give you the space and support you need on your journey to wellness.
Tenanted Accommodation
Wellink’s tenanted accommodation is the next step on from our supported accommodation homes. We run a number of apartments and houses around Wellington, which we make available to Wellink clients as they need it. We’ll work with you to arrange a fixed term lease on one of our properties – usually with several other Wellink clients.
Help With Finding A Home In The Community
Finding a new home can be daunting at the best of times. Wellink’s Homelink service extends to helping you when you are ready to find a home in the community.
We’ll take the pain out of the process of looking at houses or apartments, dealing with landlords and flatmates, negotiating rents, dealing with the paperwork and paying a bond.
Our service is flexible and we can work with you to find the home that meets your specific needs.
We Won’t Leave You Out In The Cold
Even if you have settled happily into your new home in the community, you can rest assured that we are available for ongoing support in relation to housing issues – should you ever need it.
